Default Budgie doesn't drink water

My new budgie does not seem to drink any water at all. And I am almost alway's watching it. We took it and the water dish out, and it drank some, but it hasn't drank anything at all today...how long can a budgie go without water? What should I do? How do I know if my budgie may be dehydrated? Also it is always regurgitating food up for everyone, when out of its cage. We are not sure if it is a male/female. It will do it for my other 2 budgies and for us (my siblings and I). I thought they only did this for mates and babies?...

Budgies come from arid climates. They don't need a whole lot of water.

I seldom see mine drink. As long as they have always access to fresh clean water, you should be fine.

Also, if you feed fresh foods and sprouts, they already get a lot of water through those and will have to drink a little less.

Are you sure it was regurgitating and not vomiting? Is there anything stuck to his feathers afterward?

Budgies are known for not drinking a lot of water, and when they do, they're very surreptitious about it. Don't worry about him not drinking too much

No. Nothing sticks to him. He just does that normal neck pumping thing and tries to feed you and the other birds...

Default Hello

But it only happens when outside of the cage. It mostly does it to my male budgie and me, when it tries to feed the female, she just pecks it away.

about the drinking water thing... my new hen after a week i think still doesn't know where her water is... although i've shown her so many times! lols. what i've been doing is just a few times during the day offering water to her. sometimes she'll have a drink sometimes she won't. that way i know she has been offered water and is getting it when she needs it.

Ditto on the water. They can get a lot of moisture from their food.

I've watched Plooper feed BeBee and its a pretty clean process; as long as the budgie isn't getting it on him and trying to feed specific things (ppl, other budgies, toys) I'd say it is ok. Is he young???
