I bought a griddle, but im worried about teflon and ptfe, im on hold with customer service right now, but how can i minimize the risk of purchasing teflon products? its the betty crocker family griidle if thats important, with a high heat of 400f 205c

I just got off the phone and the product was discontinued, so they cant tell me. I got it for christmas, and have yet to use it. they are still selling them so i dont get why they cant tell me.

Hi Brittany,

If you have any doubts, I personally won't use it. Since you haven't used it yet, I might look into getting a refund and purchasing a similar product that you know for a fact is ceramic coated or another safe substance so that there is no danger to your birds

Yes, it's a hassle, but you'll have peace of mind and won't be unknowingly putting your little ones at risk if it really is dangerous

i would, but i unthinkingly threw out the box while i was unpacking everything. I doubt my mom, who bought me it for christmas still has the receipt. still ill ask her. Im surprised items with teflon and ptfe are till being made, considering theres research into it being a carcinogen. something that will kill a bird in minutes cant be good for humans.

I agree, from what I've read, young children are especially sensitive to those materials and it can have lasting effects in the long run
