DO NOT MOVE THEM TO DIFFERENT CAGES! the mother will reject the chick if there is no father (i have done this many a time and made this mistake)
All you need to do is put distractive toys into the cage and put in millet sprigs. Also take away the nest box when the baby is old enough to stand on a perch. Keep an eye on them, if they are trying to mate then walk upto them and DO NOT SCOLD THEM! just tap on the cage and let the fly freely around the room (finger))
only in an emergency if this doesnt work, move the father to a cage nexto the femail and chick so the mother/chick knows that he is there and not abandoning them.
