Default Checking if my genetics are correct

Hi everyone.

So I have my first two pairs for my breeding season and while I am sourcing my third before I breed, I am running through possible outcomes.

I would just like to check if my predictions look correct and before you read further I would just like to note that I do not know the lineage of my budgies (for now at least) so there could be some surprises. There is a possibility that the cock in pair 1 is split for cinnamon but we will have to see!

Pair 1:

Cock: Normal Sky Blue SF Yellowface I
Hen: Cinnamon Sky Blue Recessive Pied

Possible Outcomes:
50% Male - Split Blue Yellowface, Split Cinnamon, Split Pied
50% Female - Split Blue Yellowface, Split Pied

Pair 2:

Cock: Normal Sky Blue Spangle
Hen: Cinnamon Light Green

Possible Outcome:

25% Male - (SF) Spangle, Split Cinnamon
25% Male - Split Cinnamon
25% Female - (SF) Spangle
25% Female - Normal

Constructive thoughts, opinions and advice welcome.

I will update as soon as I get pair 3.

~SASB

Hi SASB ,

For pair 1 you wouldn't get split blue yellowface as YF is a dominant gene. Instead 50% of your chicks would be YF 1 and 50% would be normal. So, depending on whether the cock is split for cinnamon, you could either get YF 1 sky blues or normal sky blues with all of the chicks being split to recessive pied and all the cocks split to cinnamon.

You are correct for pair 2 although I would add that all the chicks will be light green unless the cock is split for blue. If he isn't all the chicks will be split for blue.

Hopefully someone will correct me if I got anything wrong

Shalisha has it right. To clarify, all the chicks from the first pair will be skyblue rather than split blue...I wonder if that was a typo?
