Default One of my babies has underbite?

-this is the budgies beak. Any ideas?

I need sone help. I have given tweety to my grandma bit his brother/sister I can't give or sell because its lower beak comes over it's upper beak. Im taking it to the vet on Friday which will cost me $55 but does anyone know why his beak would be like this? I can get you a photo later on today if you like.

It would help if there was a photo.

I think you should take them to the avian vet so they can get their beaks trimmed. (?)

http://aav.org/search/ Use this to find an avian vet.

There are many reasons a birds upper or lower beak would over grow. It is more common for the upper but it can happen with the lower too.

It can be malnutrition. A trimming and switch to a better diet (with fruits and veggies) will fix that. But it can also be a number of health issues like liver disease.

A photo might help, just to be sure wether it looks normal or not...

Ok I will post a photo when I get home in an hour. I feed the parents lettuce, Millet seed (sometimes), grated apple and carrot. Plus seeds. So it can't be malnutrition. Unless is there anything else you suggest I should be feeding them?

I'm not sure...but it may even be a deformation? Was he always like this? If this is something from when he was a chick then I am sure he is used to it and has adapted to it well by now.

I was watching him trying to eat seeds this morning and he really struggled he ended up following his mum tryin to get a feed from her, he's too old for her to feed him now. I'm still going to take take him to the vet to see what they say.
