Default Will 2 female budgies get along?

I am thinking about getting 2 female budgies because I heard that they are quieter than the male budgies. I want to get 2 so they are not lonely. Do they get loud? I do not want a loud bird. Would finches suit me better? Thank you.

Hi, I have two females and yes they do get loud at times. Sometimes they fight but sometimes I watch them play for hours. Not sure about finches.

Haha i think all birds are (generally) pretty noisy
Finches (i think) keep up a constant singing, whereas budgies do a lot of shouting, as well as singing/warbling during the day.
Two hens CAN fight badly... not all will, but generally, two boys or a boy and a girl will get along better then two girls.
As to your other post, generally speaking, budgies dont breed unless there is a nesting box (or something they think of as a nest) in their cage, otherwise they usually mate, but dont tend to produce eggs.
However, it is not unheard of for hens to lay eggs on the floor of the cage, even when there is no male in the cage.
How noisy the budgie is will depend a lot on personality, but generally, males are noiser than females
I have 3 males and 2 females, they will all chatter but the boys chatter way more than the girls. It is a sign of happy budgies, and i love their noise

I would get a Hen and cock if u planning to get 2 budgies having to hens they can tend to fight but then again it depends on the budgies themselves. Finches are very quiet they also make cute little noises not loud at all but they breed like flies LOL. It is up to u if u wanted a budgie or finch. Budgies are more exciting as lots of different colours.

Maybe, maybe not. A male and female pair is the best bet for budgies that will not fight although the females do still tend to annoy the males fairly constantly.

For their size budgies are pretty darn noisy. Of course they don't compare to a lot of larger birds but even if other birds of a similar size make constant noise they do not reach the decibels of a budgie. You could hear Kiei all by herself across 2 large rooms, through 2-3 thick doors, and all the way down the hallway of the condo building. We had to return her to her breeder. The rest aren't quite that noisy but they still like to try to be noisier than anything in the room so if you play the tv loud the budgies will be even louder than that. They can usually surpass the highest volume level of any electronic except the surround sound if they care to so just turning the tv up higher won't do any good when they decide to join in.

Thank you for being honest with me. I think finches might be best for me. I don't like a lot of noise. I don't mind chirps now and then, but I don't want constant noise, because it will be hard for my daughter to concentrate on her homework. I am worried if I get a parakeet it will wake my daughter up in the morning.

Haha yeah, our budgies love to wake us up in the morning
Good on you for researching your pet beforehand better to get the pet right first time, than to get one and decide it isnt for you...
If you want an idea of how noisy budgies and finches can be, why not look up some youtube clips?

Budgies, male or female can be very LOUD- so maybe a canary or finches is best for you.
Check out budgie sounds on YouTube and hear for yourself

It sounds to me as if finches would be a better choice for you.

Also look into lineolated parakeets and parrotlets. More expensive but they are the same size, very quiet, and about as easy to train as the larger parrots.
