Hey there, mine started talking quite recently and he is about 9 months old. I`m fairly sure yours might be able to start talking regardless of its age! Although I can`t quite understand all he says, there are words that are much clearer than others.

I can tell when he is practicing his speech, it does not quite sound like normal bird chattering.

I read that it helps to pay attention to what he says and try to repeat to him what he says. It`s supposed to encourage him, I think it makes sense.

Good luck!

Repeat a word or a phrase to BJ several times throughout the day.
He may well be "practicing" when he's "talking" to his toy.

If that is the case, before long his speech should be clear enough for you to understand him.

Best wishes!
