Poor Harry. Yesterday his forehead looked like a strawberry (apparently pinfeathers grow like weeds overnight so this morning it looks like a porcupine.) He's been his normal self otherwise, flying around and raising havoc.
Faerybee I read your old post on miserable moults, very helpful, thanks.
It's almost as if those head feathers have perfectly synchronised the falling and growing of pin feathers in unison.
He's certainly a tough little cookie to be behaving normally through all that.
He's never moulted like that before. I was alarmed to see my bird go bald in the space of 2-3 days... but he's been acting totally normal and seeing new feathers come in is reassuring. I was reading they can become quite ill from a hard moult. Sometimes I hate my hair, but at least it doesn't randomly fall out in big clumps and make me sick and scare people.

I'm so glad it doesn't seem to be affecting his outlook and attitude.
Will he let you rub his sweet little head to help relieve the itchiness?
If Harry ever let me rub his sweet little head I would really think he was ill It doesn't seem too itchy though, because he's not rubbing his head on his perch like he sometimes does. He does seem to appreciate chunks of hardboiled egg, he's been chowing down a lot of egg white.
