Default Pippin

I've tried reading lots of articles and looking at examples but I'm still not sure of Pippin's gender

At night the cere looks very purple so I tend to go back and forth. They're super sweet though. Thank you for the input, I'll try to update once it becomes clear!

I see a very pale cere in this photo though. I think at night the lighting makes the color less clear.

Hi Stareyes and to the forums!

Pippin is adorable! I would agree that she looks like a girl; males don't have any white on their ceres and that amount of white, especially around the nostrils, indicates female, even if the edges are purplish.

It's great to have you with us, and you couldn't have come to a better place to learn even more about the best of budgie care! Be sure to read through the forum's many Budgie Articles and "stickies" (threads "stuck" to the top of each subforum for easy reference).

If you have any questions afterwards, please be sure to ask as we'd love to help.

Hope to see you around, and to see little Pippin around, too!

Cheers!
