Default How to help a molting budgie

Hey guys! Some one you guys might already know Limon. He's my only male budgie as of now. He's been going through a molt that only seems to be affecting above his cere. He isn't grumpy and his behaviour has not changed.

I do give him baths by misting him everyday but since it's above his cere I don't want him to spray too much water. I give him 4-5 sprays of water and thats it. If I do it more than that he tends to sneeze out the water. I don't want it to irritate him so 4-5 sprays seem to be doing the trick.

How else can I help him overcome this itchy situation?

Besides the mist showers or offering him a means to bathe, Limon will be able to take care of pinnies on his own (you could hypothetically try to help by giving him a head scratch but not all budgies are receptive to this, not to mention that they would much rather be preened by one of their mates).
When needed, he will rub his head against a perch, toy or even the cage's bars.
One of his birdie friends can also help him out by preening the affected areas.

During this time, you can supplement Limon's diet with egg food.
Soon enough, those pinnies will open up and there will be no more itch. This is all part of their lives and they know how to handle their moults, even the heavier ones.

I've tried plenty of methods when offering eggs but they don't like it. not scrammed nor boiled. They just leave it out whenever I try offering it.

He knows a trick where he would have me hold a balsa wood and gives himself a scratch.
