Default seriously ill budgie please help

hello everyone this is a little emergency with my budgie Toby
She is puffed up at all times...other budgies in the flock seem to be alert but not Toby.
Today I checked her temperature (under tongue) and it was completely normal(not above 42 degrees celsius)
her weight is normal compared to other healthy birds.
Her appetite is not less but I think she visits the food bowl more often than others.
The only thing is she is fluffed up all the time, looking sleepy. She is also not very interested in toys.

we cant find an avian vet at the moment ... perhaps it will be two weeks before we can take her to a vet because the hospital is far away.
Any advice and measure would be really helpful, please

I'm sorry your Toby isn't feeling well. If she's showing definite signs of being lethargic and is constantly puffed up and sleepy, then she needs to be seen with more urgency and two weeks is still a long time to wait and chances are high that her condition will deteriorate.
You can take her to nearby vet and have this vet contact an avian or exotics vet for advice on how to proceed.

For now, you can keep Toby warm by covering the cage on 3 sides and placing a hot water bottle underneath the cage's bottom.

In order to give her a little boost, you can soak spray millet onto electrolyte solution or add the electrolytes in her drinking water: Guardian Angel // Pedialyte // Pedialyte Recipe

I hope Toby feels better soon and has a full recovery.

aluz has given you excellent advice.

While it is very challenging for people who live in countries with no Avian Vets, there are steps you can take to help ensure your budgies' health.

With the right motivation, you can work with a regular or exotic veterinarian to get the proper care for your budgie(s).

You will want to do as much research as you can and learn as much about budgies and the best practices for their care so you can provide your little ones with the best possible life.

We have a member in India who has done this and has developed a great relationship with a regular vet.
With the member's research and the vet's collaboration, they have found ways of providing care for her budgie that she would have not been able to manage otherwise.

When you develop a good relationship with a regular veterinarian, that individual can collaborate via telephone or Skype with Avian Veterinarians in other countries if necessary to get assistance in appropriate diagnosing and prescribing treatment for your Avian companions.

Best wishes to little Toby for a full and speedy recovery.

Please be sure to update us in this thread regarding her condition.

Unhappy seriously ill budgie please help

Hi please help me with my budgie Toby
It's been three days since she sits isolated, puffed up all over.
Perhaps it will be two weeks before we can take her to an avian vet..
This is a long time for an emergency so I need help please
Here are some details:
She is a female budgie
her appetite hasn't decreased but it seems to me that she visits the food bowl more often than other birds. I checked her temperature (under tongue) and it is 42.14 degree celsius.
Her current diet is seeds ,at all stages of sprouting, lettuce (romaine) , cabbage and sometimes broccoli with weekly eggfood. She is also not very skinny.
She is currently in a small cage with three sides covered and a hot water bottle at thebottom to keep warm. She has just completed her moult .

Mahdiya,

I've very sorry that Toby is ill and I know you are extremely worried about her.
However, I've merged your thread with your other thread about Toby.
There is no reason to have multiple threads regarding the same topic.

We are not Avian Vets and can not diagnose what is wrong with Toby.
Trying to take her temperature with a thermometer under her tongue is not something I would recommend.
That is simply going to stress her out both physically and emotionally.

As aluz has told you, you can offer her Guardian Angel or Pedialyte.
There is also a recipe for homemade electrolyte solution in the link aluz provided.

You've been advised to take Toby to a regular vet to obtain assistance.
If you are unable to do that, then call an on-line veterinarian and work with them to determine the best course of action until you can get her to a vet.
The members of this forum are not qualified professionals and can neither diagnose nor prescribe treatment for Toby.

I am sorry for posting two threads one the same thing...yes, I am extremely worried about her health and this forum is the closest way to getting early help...It will be too heartbreaking for me if anything happens to her...
I followed all advice given by Aluz. I guess I'll simply have to try my best and leave to God the rest..

Hmm , it is just her getting out of molting and feels exhausted you have to boost her a little with electrolytes and vitamins from fruits and vegies ( cucumber ) more often than you normaly do or even provide some extra vitamins ..
A photo or video with her would be helpfull too ..

But as said noone here is an Avian Vet , they know better there are many ways to contact them ....

Well she is having sprouts for meal so that will provide extra vitamins right? She is often picky and does not eat fruits..

What is most important is that you obtain the necessary veterinarian care for Toby.

As aluz indicated in her earlier post, you should be keeping Toby warm and quiet.
You can give her electrolyte solution as suggested.

The other dietitary issues are secondary at this point in time and really should not have entered into the equation in this thread until the matter of your budgie's current health problem is resolved.

Sprouts are very nutritious for your budgie.

You should feed vegetables rather than fruit.
Fruit is high in sugar content and should only be given once or twice a week as a treat.
