dont take my word for it i could be wrong if its grown in your back yard it sould be fine if its not and from a store a lot of them have Been sprayed and others have been treated which i would not think would be safe
but i dont think fresh bamboo is toxic to answer your question but others on this forum might know beter
Yeah, the whole "Lucky Bamboo" thing is so misleading! It's pretty to look at, but people sell it with betta fish and the fish end up getting poisoned. Don't get me wrong, I have Lucky bamboo, but I'd never use it as a perch. (Doesn't grow fast enough, anyways.)
I'm glad for this thread. My budgies love loquat branches, but I'm running out of trees I can steal branches from. I've been hacking off chunks of my neighbor's tree, but it will start to show if I take much more. Luckily, I noticed he has bamboo growing unchecked, too. So I will feel a lot less guilty snipping some of that now and then, instead of the tree.
