I have never offered a cuttlebone to Gracie-Mae. She is on a pellet diet and she gets plenty of calcium from the pellets and from the fresh veggies she eats daily,so I do not offer her a supplement. If you are worried about low calcium intake you can offer broccoli and even plain yogurt is ok for budgies to eat and they are a wonderful source of calcium. A natural source is always better than a supplement,it is ingested more easily and the vitamin content is higher.

You can offer crushed egg shell after you boil an egg. Or even give a bigger piece so they can play with it and eat it at the same time.
Also, a little cottage cheese is OK too.

The crushed egg shell seems excellent, I will try in a few hours, but the shell egg when crushed should be very small, tiny peices like soil?

Smile No cuttlebone, what to do?

Hello, and welcome to our forum!

I don't know what country you live in;however, if you are unable to get them there you might want to try getting them mail order. There are many reliable online sellers out there. Ebay has a bunch of sellers that sell bird stuff, and you will probably get better service from one of them because you can give them negative feedback if you get bad service. If you input "cuttlebones" into the search bar you will, or should find some from sellers who sell them. If you can't find it under cuttlebone input bird items. Ask some of the sellers if have them. Most of them have an online store and might have them. Maybe you can order them in quantity so that you can get a price break on them.
