Default Peeling cere: vet said Leo could be girl??

So I took Leo to an avian vet to get his first check up.

I asked him about his cere peeling and the vet asked if he is on a good diet: he is.

And vet then said maybe he is a she possibly as a peeling cere can mean a female.

What do u think??

Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet
3 pics of his cere. Sorry they are bad quality/ lighting.

If not female why peeling? He said no sign of mites.

No, Leo is a definitely a male.
The peeling of the cere in this case has nothing to do with his gender. He is not a female.

It appears Leo's cere is peeling because it is molting - shedding the outer layer much like we shed cells of skin.

The cere may also be overly dry due to diet.

What foods are you feeding Leo at this time?

A Healthy Diet for your Budgie

Quality Seed Mix

Cuttlebones and Mineral Blocks/Manu Clay Roses

You can take a tiny bit of olive oil (or pure coconut oil) on a cotton swab and very gently wipe it over Leo's cere being very careful not to get any of the oil into his nares.
You can also add a bit of flax seed or drop flax seed oil to his food.
