Hi there and to the forums!

Your budgie is very cute, congratulations! If the cere is as purple as it looks in the photos, your budgie is male

He's not albino, actually! I would say he's greywing/opaline/dominant pied, maybe. If you'd like confirmation on his mutation, you can post more photos taken in natural light showing his back and wings and we can advise you more accurately

Also, is that a nestbox he is standing on? If so, be sure to remove it right away as budgies don't need one in their cage for any purpose other than breeding, which should be researched thoroughly before doing. It's important to know as much about budgies as possible before considering the breeding route.

You couldn't have come to a better place to learn even more about budgies! Be sure to read through the forum's Budgie Articles and many "stickies" (threads "stuck" to the top of each subforum for easy reference) to ensure you're up to date on the very best of budgie care.

If you have any questions after doing so, please be sure to ask as we'd love to help!

We hope to meet the rest of your budgies soon!

Cheers!

On my monitor, it's showing up as lavender, but the photos aren't the best for telling gender accurately.

Could you post more close-up photos, taken in natural light?

Welcome to the forums!

From the photos you have posted I'm seeing a mainly white cere with some very faint light bluish colour. Your budgie looks very much like a female to me.

I agree that at this point it's best to remove the nest box and all potential nesting areas: A heartfelt plea to forum members new and old

Hi! to Talk Budgies

From the pictures posted, your budgie appears to be female.
However, a full frontal shot taken in natural light is always best for determining gender.

When you upload pictures as thumbnail attachments directly from your computer, tablet or phone, the forum automatically defaults to landscape.

To upload full-sized pictures with the proper orientation, please use a photo-sharing service such as PhotoBucket and follow the steps in these instructions:
How to Post Pictures from PhotoBucket

For gender and/or mutation help - Lighting and Angle DOES matter

By the way, all photos entered in any of our forum contests must be a full-size photo and not a thumbnail attachment so it's good to know how to upload them!

Please do remove the nest box right away.
Budgies sleep on perches and have no need of a "nest".
