It does not matter how many pictures I take I cannot get the true colour of sapphires cere , today i am thinking boy, it has a definite pinky tinge to the cere that looks like its going darker today. Everyday is different.

It's crazy how different these pictures can look.

I thought that the previous picture you shared looked more pink and this one has an overall more brown colour, yet to you, it looks more pink.

I think really, it doesn't matter much.
Sapphire seems to be a good friend for Zuko so far and is settling well.
I would stick with referring to Sapphire as either a boy or a girl.

Eventually, if Sapphire is a girl, the cere will change into a tan/brown and you will know for certain but until then, I'd just enjoy her and keep working on getting her into a good friendship with Zuko.

I totally agree with Therm.
No matter whether Sapphire is a female or male, the important thing is how s/he ends up getting along with Zuko!

If the colour on the pics (especially the first two that were taken in better lighting) correspond to what you see for real then now there is absolutely no doubt that Sapphy is a female.
She is currently coming into breeding condition. I'm seeing a good amount of tan/brown colour spreading onto the cere and the part not yet affected by it is white mingled with a light bluish colour.
All female colours, the mystery has finally been solved!

Yes that sounds about right. The blue at the top was confusing me. I thought she was a hen just by the way she acts. She's got a very nice nature for a hen though she is not bossy at all, not like Suki. Thanks for the clarification.

Emma,

Sapphire is such a beautiful girl!

Now that you know for certain she is female and coming into breeding condition, I'm closing this thread.

Default Cere changed yet again

My little sapphire has had yet another colour change on her cere, she is also showing more male traits. Is she still a girl.. her cere isn't blue or tan or brown or beige. It's a pinky colour. Could this be a mutation thing. Thanks in advance
