Default Is he actually a girl?

Hi everyone! A few months ago I found a poor little budgie in the forest and having never owned a budgie before, quickly decided he was a boy because of the slight blue-ish tinge on the side of his cere but now...not so sure

Here's a picture of him (her?) I took on the day I found him. Not the best picture but you can slightly see the blue patch the cere had
https://s29.postimg.org/exss1627b/IMG_0074.jpg

and a picture I took today
https://s28.postimg.org/5ieozvz2l/IMG_0425.jpg

As you can see there is no blue at all now, not that there was ever much to begin with.
You can also see he is much happier and healthier since the day I found him

If it helps to determine the gender, the budgie is mature. You can't see in the pictures but he does have white irises.

She's beautiful! You did an excellent job in nursing her back to full health.
In case you don't know, when female budgies come out of breeding condition their ceres will have a creamy white colour and some faint blue colour can also be present especially at the edges of the cere.
From the updated photo you posted, it seems your budgie is currently in the process of getting into breeding condition.

What a wonderful outcome! I somehow missed your original posts, so I got to read the first installment and the sequel at the same time.

She looks so much happier and healthier since you've brought her home! Good job Yes, what did you name your little girl?

Also, it is a common misconception that blue on cere=boy. The majority of people at the pet stores will tell you so. So now you know!
