Default Please help with gender and age

I've gotten this pair about 2 1/2 weeks ago and they're settling in just well. I'm confused with the age and gender as the breeder wasn't of much help. Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forums and congratulations on your new budgies!

Due to your budgie's colour mutations (recessive pied and lutino), it's more difficult to give an accurate age estimate. They both have leg bands, and the information there might be helpful in terms of finding the year of hatch.
If I were to take a guess, I'd say they are both about 6 - 7 months old.

Your sky blue recessive pied budgie is a male and your lutino is likely a boy too, but a better photo (a frontal shot of the whole beak cere area taken in natural lighting, no flash from camera) will help confirm or deny this.

Your new budgies are very cute!
I agree with aluz regarding gender and also that a better picture of the lutino's cere would be helpful for additional verification.

Thank you for the responses, they are much appreciated! I have learnt a lot about them.

Unfortunately the rings only display the year but if you believe they are 6-7 months old then I'm happy with that.
I've uploaded additional photos as suggested with natural lighting, I hope it helps.

From these pics, I believe your beautiful lutino is a female. Recessive pied is male.

I agree, I'm seeing a lot of white, making your lutino a girl.

Yes! The lutino is Nova and the recessive pied is Zeke.
It's quite surprising to know the lutino is female as I'm finding she is outgoing and progressing really well with the training while Zeke is very skittish still.

Behaviour tends to be a very inaccurate predictor of gender, actually Take a look at this thread for more information:
