Hello everyone, I'm new to the budgie care and i want you to help me indentify this budgie gender and age. From what I learned from the internet, i think it's a 6-8 month girl, but i'm not sure at all.

Welcome to the forums and the ever exciting world of budgie ownership!
You have certainly come to the right place as you will find all you need to know on budgie care here.
Since you are new to budgies, the information on the several articles and sticky threads at the top of each section of the forums will be extremely useful as you become more familiar with the species.

I was only able to see the photo on the first link you posted and while the lighting isn't ideal to accurately determine gender, it does seem that you have a young female there. Better photos will help confirm this.

While there is already some iris development on her eyes, she looks younger to me. She still has her baby barring on the forehead area, it's trickier to see due to her being opaline, but it's there she also has the immature colour on her cere what it seems like a light bluish colour mingled with white. I'd say she is 4 months old.

Oh, i thought you couldn't see the iris on 4 months, I was mistaken then! Here's more photos:

More of a frontal shot of the cere taken in natural lighting would be helpful.
From the last photo you posted, I'm seeing prominent white circles around the nostril area.

While it's not the norm, some budgies can start developing their irises sooner.
My budgie Leonel, for example at 6 months of age already had fully developed white irises.

I see, so the baby bars are a more reliable trait than the irises?

I'll try to take a frontal shot next time. Thank you for your help!

The baby barring combined with the immature colour in the cere, yes.

Here's another shots of the little fella. Now that I've seen her/him? in another lighting I'm a little bit confused, he does seem to be male, what do you think?

Hi Daeva and to the forums!

Your little fellow is very cute

From those photos, he does appear to be male. These were taken in natural light, right?

Congratulations on your new budgie! You've come to the very best place to learn even more about these cute little birds.

Be sure to read through the fourm's many "stickies" (threads "stuck" to the top of each subforum for easy reference) as well as the budgie articles to ensure you're up to date on the very best of budgie care. If you have any questions afterwards, don't hesitate to ask as we'd love to help

Hope to see you around!

Thanks a lot! Yes they've been taken in daylight in a room while the curtain was open.
