Red face Jobs for shy teens?

What jobs are there for shy teens?

Besides the library? I want to earn my own money rather than to wait for my parents or gifts.

Most part time jobs hire for the up front positions like cashier...and I don't like that at all.

And what about online jobs? Or jobs you can do from home? Is there any for teens? Please let me know if there is and I'd prefer that they be free. So many seem to have a fee with them.

How about working as a stock-clerk in a grocery store? Then you stock the shelves but rarely have to interact with customers. Or, you could try working as a data processor -- that might even be something you could do from home. Or, how about medical transcriptionist--are you good with medical terms and spelling? That's all that comes to mind at the moment. Maybe you could work at a book store doing inventory?

Library would have been my first suggestion.

But don't dismiss cashier. You might find it weird but when you can put your public face on, you might find you are much less shy.
Stocking shelves is also an option, but those are usually night jobs. Depending on where you are, might not be a good option.

Then there is the ever popular burger flipping.

or house keeping in a hotel (not good when you still do school though)

I like working in the back I don't know where to find these ads though. And when I do it's always for the up front work... I have heard of data processing...but I didn't really understand it? What do you do?

I thought you had to go to school to be a medical transcriptionist...here in some colleges they offer those small courses for it.

And what happens when you work in inventory?

I think it's great that you would like to work. I was thinking maybe a grocery or pet store. They often need help stocking shelves and things like that. I would stay away from online jobs. Take a look around your neighborhood for stores that might be hiring. You can always put in an application for one.

Pet store sounds nice! As long as it's work that's in the background...lol Where do I find ads?

When you do inventory (we'll use a book store as an example) you'd open the boxes, cross check the contents to be sure that what was received matched what was ordered and enter the information into the computer system.

Data processing involves putting information into a computer in specific formats. That may mean typing numbers into a spreadsheet or specific information into forms.

The idea of working at a Petstore is a good one! The ones around here have people who walk the dogs that are there for doggie day care. You might also try a kennel where you'd feed the animals and clean up the kennel runs.

There's a very small pet shop in a mall near my home. It's not a big company. I think it's only in my city. It has no website though...and I'm not sure who owns it and if they're hiring. But with how small it is, I feel if there is a job it may only be the cashier position. I may try calling and asking to see what positions there are.

And with a large company, here are the positions:

Operations - Store Managers
* Operations - Assistant Managers
* Operations - Cashier Associates
* Operations - Receivers
* Operations - Dog Groomers and Bathers
* Operations - Adoption Centre Associates
* Operations - Small Animal/Aquatic Specialists
* Operations - Dog Trainer (Training Certificate Required)

Now what would best match with a really shy girl??

Inventory sounds nice, do you need any experience to be able to get the position?
