Default Mycroft and his noises.

Hi all

We have had Mycroft 10 days now and when I talk to him he makes the noises in the video linked to this post. Can you tell me what the noises mean - is it his way of chatting to me?

Those are sweet little contentment chirps budgies will normally do when relaxed as they get ready to take a little nap.

Thumbs up

Thank you for that Aluz. I don't think that is Mycrofts before napping noise. The last 2 days he has done this constantly from the time his cover comes off til it goes back on in the evening but it's very sweet and I take it as a sign that he is content with his lot after his 11 days with us at home.

I'm basing from what I have seen from my budgies over the years and usually those chirps are associated to a moment of relaxation and also when they are about to nap. This is all a matter of observation and taking our own conclusions from the context of a given situation.

I was going to say "He's content" even before I read Aluz's post. His fluffy face and forehead indicate he's relaxed.

I love Mycroft's colors! I bet he could be a talker if you work with him a bit.

Thanks all. Any tips on how to encourage the talking? I have read a little on the subject but it's always good to get advice from people that have managed it themselves.

I have a talker. I just talked to him and sang songs to him...mostly for my own amusement because he and I are home alone most of the day...then one day he started talking too. He mostly only says small phrases though.

PS: Mycroft is a cutie and I love his coloring.
