Default Syd & Bondi

Quarantine is over!!!

I've rearranged Syd's cage, added extra water & food bowls and Bondi's swing - No chance of a meeting on neutral ground as Bondi flew in at the first opportunity, but so far so good, they spent the day feeding and preening each other. They've ate together from the same dish and barely left each other's side.
Fingers crossed it continues!

Thanks everyone, I just hope it continues.

The only slight issue they're having, is they're both trying to be on the same swing at the same time - the actual swing in question varies, so I think it's more a wanting to be together than a favourite swing or position. Once on, they're okay but the second budgie landing is a tricky manoeuvre and frequently knocks off the first budgie

Luckily I'd previously ordered a double sized swing from the natural bird company as a Christmas present, which should arrive soon, so I guess they'll get that early and hopefully they'll realise it's the sensible choice.

Red face

So I heard a fluttering and came to see that Syd had managed to flip the swing around:

I readjusted the swing and they're currently sleeping separately on the two single swings (new swing not here yet), but now I'm wondering if I should have just removed this swing???

I'll leave them alone for tonight, but shall I take it out in the morning or do you think it's still safe enough to leave in a day or two until I get a replacement?

Edit - Ok I've calmed down and decided that it's really no different from those interlocking ring toys sliding around, so I'm going to leave it for now.

Their new double swing has arrived and I put it in the cage yesterday - they're still eyeing it with great suspicion despite the millet I've attached as a tempter:

I know they'll love it when they finally pluck up the courage to try it out, just as well that I've put it in early; it might actually be a Christmas present after all!

(Swing from The natural bird company - uncoloured beads were my choice - great communication from the company & they even threw in a little freebie!)

That's a lovely swing and I'm sure they really will like it soon!

Mallorn has a swing from the Natural Bird Company that she adores, although it took her a few weeks to warm up to it, too

Syd and Bondi are too cute! I love both of their colors, but I'm always partial to pieds It's so sweet that they've immediately taken to each other. I am sure they'll love the new swing you go them. I got my birds a wooden swing tower since they love their swings so much. This allows them to sit beside, above, or even below each other I've also had it when Izzy was sitting on a single swing that Hermes would reach out and grab it so that he could push/pull her on the swing. It was so cute
