Good morning everybody! Today is a big day for Reggie as he will be having his first check up at the vet's today! Hopefully everything will be all clear for him I'll make sure to keep everybody updated on how the check up goes Also for Starlight here is a picture of the cere on the beak so you can determine if Reggie is actually a Regina
Yes he absolutely loves his new destructive toys, so I think I'll definitely be keeping the toys in he's got now. As for the perches situation I will definitely make sure to buy some other perches also, he loves his natural branch along with his rope perch. I just need to find two others to change the rest but then the cage should be finished for him
Don't worry Deborah he's really not interested in biting on the rope perch at all he's more interested in his destructive toys, so I don't think the rope perch will become a hazzard I have to look out for in the future. Although saying that he might surprise me and start biting it anyway so I will be sure to keep an eye out anyway just in case
There will be no pictures today guys. I apologize, Reggie is a little stressed out this morning. His last vet visit was unusual to him as it was his first one. I'm sure over time with his check ups he will be used to it but it's just scared him a little. Reggie will have time to himself today to relax and calm down and understand that his cage is a safe place and nobody is going to hurt him. Also he did have a black band on his foot which we had to take off mostly because he was biting at it and constantly trying to get off himself. So now his foot is free from the black band Thank you all for keeping up with Reggie's accomplishments and achievements. There will definitely be more pictures tomorrow.
The avian vet did tell me that because Reggie is only 5 weeks old and he was taken out of the nest a lot earlier than normal she'd like to give Reggie check ups every 6 months just to make sure he's growing up okay and that his health is also okay. Apparently it's very common for some chicks who have been taken away from their mothers early than usual to suffer from stress and things like that.
