I've been growing my own wheatgrass (not difficult) because my bird really likes it a lot. I had bought some at the petstore for $6, and after learning how much he liked it.... I bought some hard wheatberries in the bulk section at the health food grocery store. You can grow it for pennies.

He sure looks like he is enjoying his new "forest"! Did you figure out what to name him yet? I always have the hardest time thinking of names for pets.

This clever budgie started voluntarily landing on my smartphone when I played videos of birds he likes (Disco the parakeet, Benji the budgie, random canaries). He's perfectly comfortable to stay there. He really likes it.

He is certainly a very handsome fellow and obviously very technologically savy as well!

I'm looking forward to seeing lots more pictures of this little darling.

Thanks FMC. He's really sweet. He has been very patient with me, as a first time owner. I could not have asked for a sweeter little guy.

Here are some pics when my bird was preening this evening. ( I like it when he's all fluffed up and you can see his tail & fluffy white wings. )

Once I learn how to properly post videos... I'll put some up. I think he's really starting to get comfortable and be himself. We've made great progress. He has learned to play with toys by himself on the top of his cage; and I leave the cage door open while I'm in the room working on my laptop. He goes in and out as he pleases, like it's his domain, and if he feels like flying... he does a few laps and then goes back to his cage. It's really great to see him feeling more settled in and comfortable; and seeming like he has some ownership over his new home.
