Is there a reason why you've allowed the budgies to double-clutch rather than removing the mother and giving the parents a much needed rest?

Yes, because my avian vet gave the okay and said to rest them after their second clutch.

I'm glad to hear the Avian Vet gave the OK.

Are you planning to sell all of the babies from the two clutches?

It'll be interesting to see how the colour vary from the two clutches.

The babies from the first clutch actually stayed within my family so its really nice bc i get to watch them growup. Im not sure yet about the second clutch. For sure planning on keeping one and i have a friend whose bird just passed so i am going to offer one to her. I care about my babies and want to make sure they are somewhere safe and well cared for.

That is awesome that the babies from the first clutch are staying within your family and you'll get to watch them grow-up.
(I would never be able to breed as I'd end up wanting to keep all the babies for myself. )

It's so great that you are going to offer your friend a baby from the second clutch.
I'm sure that will mean a great deal to her and will go a long way in helping her through her grief at losing her budgie.

Best wishes as the journey of your second clutch unfolds.

Trust me, i want to keep them all. To watch them grow and fall in love with them and each of their different personalities. Although if i kept them all i think id be rehomed. Haha thank you. And i do feel lucky having their first clutch around for their whole lives! Sooo much love!
