Because Green's arthritis is getting the better of her, my Mum + Dad have decided to buy her Cherry Tree Branches to replace her perches with. Anyone else use these?

Like ones that have been made into perches or just taken off a cherry tree. Most fruit tree branches are budgie safe so they're probably good too.

We just bought them, they are made into perches. We bought them so that Green can get a better grip with her feet.

Natural perches are fantastic and give the feet a break from a standard dowel perch. My cage has a variety of perches including long branches, cement perches, calcium perches, rope perches, etc. I just picked up old poplar branches from the yard, sterilized them, and lay them between the bars in the cages.

Are plumb branches ok? And how do u sterilize them, arent the natural perches usually very thin?

either weather them in the sun, or bake them in the oven at a low temp for hours

lol, it depend on your oven, my piece of junk can go low, so i can put branches in for 2 hours like you would to make banana chips & stuff

if your oven is on the hot side, check after 20 minutes, if you get ash, its too long! lol

also, you can age them in the sun for 1-2 weeks
