:) i have read that if you have 2 male budgies 1 will quite often take on the role of a female ! i have 2 males and 1 female but the boys often preen eachother and leave the female out :)

That's completely normal budgie behaviour. It is rather interesting that when you have two males, one will often take the role of the female. ;)

When Pie first living with us, Bert took a BIG interest in him. He was always over at his cage, hanging about on the side bobbing to him. It was so cute!! My friends would say he was *** but i knew he was'nt. There was only 1 budgie for Bert and that was Green! ;)

It's really normal that budgies want to be friends. They're just acting like really good friends.

My males do the same thing. I always chuckle when I see it because they look so "into" each other. But then they will do it to females too. My females preen each other too.

When Bert used to bob to Pie, they both looked really into one another. But Bert just wanted to make friends with him! ;)

Haha a *** bird, thats a first. No hes not ***, budgies are very social birds. A female will court with a female, male with male, female with male. Any way you arrange it they will court because in nature they socialize in flocks (groups). He's just showing the other bird he likes being around him or he's there for him. And dont be alarmed when they groom eachother, all budgies groom one another weather they're both male or both female.
