18 x 18 x 18 is in Inches, not Centimeters. And that is just approximate. With bird cages, usually bigger is better. The biggest you can affort with the right bar spacing. Bar spacing is 1/2 in. to 3/4 in. maximum. Good luck!

They generally size bird cages in Inches. I know around here you can get a 'decent' cage for around 40$ CAN which would translate into around #20. (sorry... the hash mark around here is called a pound... and we don't have the fancy L shaped ones readily avail). My current cage came to 120$ (#60) and I'm really happy with it. It came with plastic perches, which I leave at the bottom since they are so easy to clean if they get pooped on, but I have their 'real' perches in all of the likely-to-be-sat-on places.

When you get your cage, you are more than likely going to replace or add better perches, like the rope type. Don't worry too much about the perches, just get a sturdy, well made cage, that is as big as you can afford, but with no larger than 1/2" bar spacing. You will be surprised at how fast you can fill-up a cage with toys.:D :D :D

Around where i live you cna get a nice size cage for about $60... im in canada.. so a pound here is like equal to about $2.25 CAN so it would be like 27$..(if i did that right) but the prices are probably different in the UK, i would ask, or wait for a reply from another UK member. A few of the UK members are, Zarrion, Amy and theres alot of other members from the UK too, but anyway you can maybe like PM them ask them how much they paid for there cage etc. or you can wait till they reply... if they reply.Im sure they would have a better idea of how much a decent cage would cost since there in the UK aswell.

You could get one of those Parakeet Starter Kit. This one cage from PetSmart cost around $60.00
The kit includes: cage, cuttlebone, treat and seed stick, mineral treat, toy, spray millet, and Kay Kob litter.

how much money do you have?
look at pet stores with big and decent cages that you can afford.
In other words the bigger the better.

As everyone said, bigger is better. The minimum cage size for one keet is 18x18x18. You don't need a cage with those exact measurements but make sure the volume is the same. To find the volume multiply height x weight x depth. I can point you to an excellent post on another forum that tells all about cage sizes. Since it's against the rules to post links to other forums, PM me if you're interested.
