new bird in the home

ok i thought i would just post a new thread... I have a bird. i have to wear gloves.. because.. i am a wimp to their biting... when i go in the cage. the bird will get on my hand but will not let me get him out.. and when i get him out he bites like crazy... and wont stop.... any advise...:S would be greatly thanked

Just spend plenty time with him on your own and you will gain his trust. All budgies bite like crazy when they are first taken out just because they are nervous. When you take him out, let him sit on top of his cage for a while to settle down.

Have you tried leaving the cage door open and letting him come out by himself. You might want to try millet in your hand too. They seem to love it so much they forget how scary the big bad hand is. Good luck.
