my budgie has this cage and it has bars on the bottom above the litter try and i wonder because she spreads her food all over the bottom if i should remove it she seems to waist alot of food. another question i have is well my budgie tweetie's cere is kinda purplish and i was told with some colors that sexing by the cere is not based on color they even had a pic of a budgie that looked like tweetie and his cere was pink but he was a male could any of u help me.

I'd leave the grate in... i personaly dont like them on the bottom eating poo :)
as for the sex, looks like a girl to me

I don't use a grate on the bottom of my cages. The situation you describe could be seen as a waste of food, but the good thing about it is that it keeps your budgie from eating food that has droppings on it. It's up to you if you would prefer to remove the grate.

I think your little sweety is a girl too. ;)

I leave the grate in- I don't want them on the bottom walking through that mess of seed,pellet,veggies and poop...yucky-

I leave the grate in because I don't like them walking in poo. However, I know what you mean about wasting food. What I did was I got large size food dishes (2 birds, thus 2 dishes) and I only put 2 teaspoons of seed in each dish every day. Because the dish is large and the food is on the bottom, they don't make a mess and there is less waste.
