I recently bought a play gym for my two budgies. They are not really tame yet, but I thought it would be good for them to get some exercise out of their cage. They seem to enjoy the different perches, and Cordy seems interested in the mirror and bell but does nothing with them.
Is there something I can do to make them more comfortable on the gym?
I don't really even care if they "play" with it like they are supposed to. I just don't want it to scare them so much.

My budgies don't really pay much attention to their gym either. The way I've gotten them to actually utilize it was to put it on my window cill so they could look outside the window from the gym. I added a few different perches on it as well and also put some food in it just in case they got hungry.
Also, if the gym has a ladder, try removing the ladder and begin teaching Cordy to go up the ladder. It didn't take long for my budgies to master the ladder and I think that eases their anxiety towards the gym as a whole. Hope some of my advice can be of use to you! :) Let me know if you make any progress. Good luck!

Hmm, well seeing they arent comfortable at home yet, it could just take time for them to adjust on everything. try putting there fav. foood around the gym or a little bit of millet.

We purchased a gym for our budgies and no one played on it at all. We moved it away from the top of their cage and put it on the top of our computer desk one month ago, now they fly to it and play with the toys, go figure!! It like a vacation spot away from their cage. We did put a little seed dish in the gym, maybe that helped. We almost threw it away because they never used it, just give them a while.
