Budgie brunch

Important note: do not use avocados, apple pips or apricot flesh next to the stone in any of these recipes

Fresh fruit kebabs

Ingredients: (choose any of the following)
banana
orange with skin
apple with skin (make sure there are no pips)
pineapple
melon
kiwi

Method: Cut the fruit up, put it on to wooden skewers and hang it in your pet's cage.

Pine nut paradise

Ingredients:
shelled pine nuts
dates
apple (no pips)
pineapple (if not, then use melon)
apricots (can be dried)
raisins
sesame seeds
fresh orange juice
kiwi

Method:
Make like a salad. Chop it all up and put it in a bowl.

Parrot fruit bars/squares

Ingredients:
eggs complete with shells (mush them up)
vanilla extract
fresh orange juice
raisins
kiwi
apricots
pineapple (if not, then use melon)
honey
wholewheat flour
bran
mixed nuts
sesame seeds

Method: Mix all the ingredients until they're like dough and spread on to a baking tray. Cook for 20-25 mins at 180C/350F/Gas 4. Cut into squares etc for a bird to be able to hold in their claws (roughly 2cm by 2cm).

I recommend you print this out! Looks nice doesn't it?! I found it on the BBC website... www.bbc.co.uk (http://www.bbc.co.uk) However... I editted it. :P

i would sugest:

dont use banana with the skin on, peel them, they are the worst at holding pesticides in the skin and its really hard to wash out!

also, with the apricots, (as all pitted fruits) make sure you dont use flesh that sits next to the stone

finally, kiwi are fine, peel them, they are a good source of potassium and ascorbic acid

other than that, chow down! :)
