How many would fit in this aviary?

Hi, as me and my dad are building an aviary at the moment I wasn't actually sure how many budgies I would be able to fit in without it being to squashed for them. This picture is about the size of the aviary. It is about 9.3ft in length and 1 metre in width.

Me ethier, but that is a beautiful avairy......I just know that its not good to have extra females, if you have extras they should be males and 2 breeding boxes for each pair; sorry I dont know how many though Bea answerd to mine I wanted to build an avairy that was 8 feet tall I think 4 feet long and 2 and 1/2 feet wide she said 3 to 4 pairs could live in it......:( :S

Probably about 20-30 budgies. 1m wide isn't very much? Why so narrow and long?

I know, it isn't very wide, but we're its being build, theres isn't enough room to go any wider, I would have if I could. I know someone who has got an aviary like the one we're building and the budgies seem quite happy! :) I'll send in a pic when it's done.

40! Be a bit cramped! Maybe a bit more like 30 or so.

I'm with Amy, 40 would be a bit cramped. You don't want to cram as many budgies as you can into it, just as many as will be comfortable. Also, in aviaries, as flight isn't a huge issue (there's tons of flying space) the basic rule is 12 inches of perch space per bird. :)

I said 12 inches of perch space per bird in an aviary. Of course a budgie can't live in a 12x12x12 cage but in an aviary where space isn't an issue what's important is the number of perches available, budgies spend most of their time perching, not flying.
