View Full Version : New Usergroup Proposal
I've noticed a lot of threads about members who want signature images and/or avatars made for them. To make things easier for these members, I suggest a new group be created, similar to the picture resizers, for members who are willing to create signature images.
If you are interested, I'll be happy to set this up. :) Before this gets off the ground though, I'd need someone to be in charge of the group. I would prefer if this is someone who has a lot of experience in graphics, the member who can make the best signature images. I won't choose, because that would be unfair, but I'm looking for someone to step up if you truely feel you are the best computer graphics artist here.
Once we get a group leader, I will set up the usergroup. Now, the only reason why I need a leader is so membership requests can be approved. The leader is not necessarily going to be doing more work, but will need to keep track of the usergroup and stay ahead of membership requests.
Anyway, if you all think this a good idea (or even if you don't), let me know! Post your thoughts here and I'll change to suit the needs of others.

It would be awesome if you wanted a siggy, and all you had to do was go there and find somebody! And they'd all be together so you wouldn't have to track them down!

Dave,
I think it's a great idea. I know that a lot of new members want a siggy, but don't have a clue how to make one. This would make members feel useful - and also take frustration away from the new members. :p

ill do it if no one else will, but i think theres other people out there that are a little(or alot lol) more talented with graphics than me. But if no one else steps forward then i will have no problem doing the job. :D.. or whatever.

I'd love to be the leader as well. But you said you'd prefer someone who's had a lot of experience with graphics. I've only had a couple of years with this new photo editor. My mom could do it, she's obsessed with photoediting and stuff like that, but she won't join because she thinks she'll become addicted ><

Yeah I suck at making siggys but i absoluetly love to! I wouldn't mind just being on a "if this person can't do it u can" type of thing :P

I could never make signiatures, but for a leader I would suggest Mark85. I love his style and I am sure by making that, he is great with graphics and would most likely be a good leader. Just a thought though! :p

LOL iz ok... jus letting you know.... i like his style too... :D i think a lot of people are good at siggys but it would be hard to choose just one leader.. i think their should be vote for the people to be leader, but you can only vote for people that want to be. So you dont get people voting for random people that dont even wnat to be it.
Just a suggestion.

They would be in charge of accepting join requests that other members make to join the group. While technically anyone could do this, we're looking for a great graphics person who is willing to step up and say they'll do it for sure. If anyone thinks they're this person, feel free to post. :)

Okay the group is created with Bea as leader.
So how do i approve memberships or whatever else i have to do? And do people just contact us if they see that we are in the group, or is there are proper way to do it?

To join you go to the link I included in my last post. Find the group you want to join and submit a join request.
Do i accept everyone (within reason obviously - people who can make siggies)? Is there a limit to how many members you want in the group? And will people be notified when i accept/deny/ignore them or should i PM them when i do it?

Yeah only accept people who can make them. I'm not sure how notification works, so I can't answer that one. But you shouldn't need to PM them.

We should have our own forum... that like only group members can see. and so what do you do specifically..... do we only make siggies for those who ask or everyone who doesn't have one?
Rather than our own forum (cause i can't see a reason were only the sig makers would need to chat), what about a signature request subforum somewhere? That would keep all the requests together and would be really easy for members to find. Thoughts Dave?
