my budgie shivers and its hot

hey

i got my first budgie yesterday and i havent seen him eat or drink but to top it off he shivers. so we put him outside this morning in a little bit of sun and he is still shivering


can some1 plz help me with my problems

Is he nervous or.....?He might be nervous birds do not shiver when they are cold,or is he puffed up.Thats not good if he is not eating or drinking.Does he have proper bowl movement?Are his eyes clear?

Those are all good points Joey. It is also possible that he hasn't yet settled in. However, I would recommend bringing him to an avian vet for an initial exam. It is better to be safe than sorry.

Yeah I figured that would be a good idea too,but I am the kind of person that tries to fix problems my self....:)

Lol! I agree with everyone. My budgies didn't eat or drink for a few days, then they settled in and started.

I'd rethink about a vet check up though. They can be pricey and he may be fine. If after about 2 days he still hasn't improved then I would get him checked.

bobby i agree with the others give the budgie a few days to settle, if then hes not eating or sitting puffed up all day then id consult a vet. good luck.
