Hey guys,

I've just been taking some pictures of Dallas and I really wanted to concentrate on her blue belly. But to my suprise, she's half violet!

Her body is blue in color, but right by her neckline and also on her cheek, she's got deep set purple! I haven't noticed this before, so I'm wondering, could she have changed color as she matured?

I'm trying my best to catch it in a good picture, but I'm not getting any luck yet. I'll keep trying!

Her body color my be becoming more vibrant.
It usually happens after each molt.
She's probably a Violet and not a blue.
I know my budgie Rani is Skyblue, but his neck is a darker blue.

I could be wrong, but i think their true color comes out after their first heavy molt and as they mature, the color shows???

I think that also. She's going through her first molt with me and I'm noticing her violet cheeks, neckline and her back.

I can't seem to catch it in pictures, but I have some to show soon.

Dallas is so beautiful, no matter what her color is :)

She could be a sky violet. They visually appear pretty close to cobalt with a violet sheen to the feathers.

Isn't it maddening when you can't capture the color you are seeing? It doesn't matter though - All of your Budgies are gorgeous.
