I am so sorry for poor Harley.. But there's no way to deal with death.. Everytime it's cruel, it's frozen and scary.. I thought of it many times and I still do but it's always the same..
Just try to remember the good times you shared with Harley and take extremely care of Skye.

RIP Harley..

I am so sorry to hear about the death of your little sweety. It is never easy to deal with; expected or not.

Were your two budgies caged together? Have you considered bringing Skye to an avian vet to get her checked out for illness in case she something that Harley had?

Make sure you spend plenty of time with Skye; not necessarily interacting directly with her, but simply sitting near her cage. Make sure you also have some background noise for her during the day, like a television or radio for example. When it is too quiet, budgies don't like that.

Again, my thoughts are with you. Hang in there!

Yes they were caged together. And it was a internal disease and skye has been fine for about a week. Skye is on my nightstand near my bed so i spend alot of time with her. I am getting a new budgie and I have two noisy love birds near her so they talk.

I am also very sorry to hear of your experience. All I can offer is that time will ease the pain, at least make it easier to live with. Make sure you quarantine your new budgie, to make sure it doesn't bring an illness into the house or Skye make the new one sick.

It's for sure Skye isn't sick. Harley has been gone for a week now so I know she isnt sick. We are getting a new one this weekend.

Even if Skye isn't showing any signs of being sick, you still need to keep your new Budgie separate from Skye (for at least 30 days) to make sure that your new Budgie isn't carrying any illness that could affect Skye.

I know it's more fun to just quickly place a new Budgie with the one you already have, but it's definitely not recommended. You don't want to take a chance on anything happening to Skye.

I just bought a new Budgie and as much as I want to place him with my others, I have him in quarantine until the 30 days are up.

I am very sorry about the loss of your little green Budgie. I hope that you will soon begin "healing" and that better days are ahead for you.

Yea well now Wednesdays are bird-dying days. My love bird died yesterday when my sister was cleaning the cages she walked into my room and say my love bird lying infront of Skye's cage, dead. And we no don't plan on getting any birds until we get back from our vacation (coming back on May 5) So now its one budgie and one lovebird.

Unless both of your birds are old, I would say it is suspicious when you lose two birds in a relatively short time. You should try to figure out what happened before you get another. It might be a good idea to wait thirty days before you even get another bird and then put it in quarantine for 30 days.
