Taming the bird

My yet nameless budgie is doing alright in his first week home. He hasn't lunged at me at all but he freaks out a bit at my hand still. I just put it outside the cage and inside as well to fix stuff etc. He'll be all relaxed and I'll slowly move my hand into view and you can see him visably tense up. LOL

That's how my little guy is right now too. I've had him since Saturday. I wish they would love us right away like a puppy or kitten would. lol

Yeah I know right?? No progress really. I mean I can move stuff around in his cage and he doesn't bite or anything...just gets scared and flies away from the hand.
