My budgie Bob has seven of the long feathers on one side and nothing on the other side. Everytime a long feather tries to grow on the other side he always loses it from landing funny. Because his other wing is more powerfull he always lands on the one trying to grow so he never has any feathers on that side. To top it off today he got attacked by a cat and he survived and all he lost was his tail and a couple feathers and the cat kinda chewed up his wing with less feathers so now he has less on the weaker side. should I just wait untill he molts or clip it. If I do clip it sould it be while he is still growing back his feathers on his wing and tail or should I wait untill he is better?:S
I'd clip the other wing to even things up and then see how they grow back in.
I agree with Bea, clip the other wing and see how it goes.

I concur. Your best bet would be to clip the other side. Your budgie will adapt to the uneven strength; just give it time. :p

Apparently my parents don`t want to pay the 60$ to take his to the vet so i decided how hard could it be? So today i grabed him in a towel and tried simply bending feathers at a point where I didn`t think it would hurt and if it did he simply chirped but not I am done it was easy, no blood or hurt, and all I needed was a towel (he`s a biter) and scisors and now he flies someone even. The once stronger wing is just a little stronger but the feathers will start to grow on the other side and he will even out. id say I did a pretty good job

Glad you were able to get him clipped. I think that should balance things out. Sounds like the little guy has had a rough time so I hope this helps.
