Green Poos?

Petri has green poos, green and white. Is he sick? Whats wrong with him? Pedro's poos are just fine, but I've moved him to upstairs (They've been together (cages side by each) in the living room.) Just in case...

Are they still normal shaped? Has his diet changed at all? Bright green or dark green? Is he showing any other signs of illness?

They're kind of splattery, if that makes any sense at all. No change in diet, still the same food, is it cause we haven't bought any veggies lately? Maybe? Yes, he is still behaving as hyper, chirpy, moving around eating and drinking like normal ^^ oh, and they're lightish green

How old is your little sweetie that is pooping green? Sometimes when budgies haven't eaten much, their droppings take on a green hue. THis can be particularly true for very young budgies.

You're not talking a lime green colour are you? If you are, this could be a rather serious illness called psittacosis. However, it doesn't sound like that is the case with your little guy since he doesn't seem to be exhibiting signs of illness like laboured breathing, nasal or ocular (eye) discharge, unless you just didn't mention those things in your post (which I highly doubt as I am sure you would have thought they were significant enough to mention!!)

The feces portion, which is solid and worm-like, may be dark green in color (usually in seed-eaters), or brown (usually in pellet-consuming birds.) Feces can also be other colors, as well, and this depends on what the bird has recently consumed. For example, certain berries will cause the feces portion of the dropping to take on the color of the fruits ingested.

Keep us updated with your sweetie! If you are in doubt as the his health, I would encourage you to bring him to an avian vet for a checkup to be on the safe side.

Mhm. Well, its funny, when he can get into Pedro's cage he'll try and eat all of Pedro's food. Well, I check his and I'm an idiot, >.< I forgot to feed his today! I was so busy! I promised Petri I'd never do that ever again! So I put food into his dish, and he went right too it, the green poos have only been in the cage for a day, so I think the food thing might be right ^^ I'll keep you posted, 'course ^^ Hes..well..I think he's rather young, he doesn't have those eye circles, but I think he is growing quite a bit, he's so much bigger than Pedro *in size, not in fatness* So..yeah! He'll be fine lol the little bugger, when he was out today he went right for the millet that I had left out from the day before and ate it all :P ^^ Thank you! Oh! And no, its not lime green..its like..um..ummm... >.>...um..light green! Like..light green grass green? Am I making sense here? Let me check his poo right now....WHOOT! His poo is totally back to normal! So it was my fault intirely, I'll never be that stupid EVER AGAIN! >.< I'm sorry Petri, hunny!

I'm glad he seems to be just fine! It sounds like it was because he hadn't eaten in a little bit. Phew!! :p

It is better to exercise caution than to do nothing and wonder later if you should have done something. We all do this and that is part of being a budgie owner! We care so much about the little sweeties that sometimes we freak out over things that really aren't bad at all. Keep smiling! You're doing a great job with your little budgiekins and they are lucky to have such a caring owner. :)

So you did feed it vegetables?I think this is the problem my budgies get green poops when I feed them too much green food like Danadelion leaves and lettuce.

Oh, okay! Yeah Joey, I do feed him dandilion leaves! Maybe that was it, his poos are still a little runny, but I'll keep you posted ^^ Carrots for tonight, and we'll see what happens.
