i want to get another

i want to get another bird, but i do not have a cage because my friend is using it cuz she got a new bird also, ..........i really really want another one!.....i feel guilty leaving the bird home alone whilt i am at school......my dad didnt want me getting a bird in the first place, so it HAS TO stay in my room...........i just feel guilty for the 6 hours i am away at school!

You will need to get another cage to quarantine any new budgie. Are you allowed to leave a radio on while you are at school ? you dont need it to loud just so youre budgie can hear it in the background. Make sure there are toys in the cage so he/she doesnt get bored.

why don't you buy a new cage, and when you get home, give your budgie lost of love!

I would wait, just leave a radio on during the day and your budgie will be fine. :)

Tell your friend to get her own cage and take the cage back, after all it is your cage..thanks you just reminded me I lent a cage to someone and forgot!Thanks for reminding me ill get it tommorow!:) Just keep begging your dad it works with my parents. I wasnt allowed to get a kitten but, I paid my dad $40.00 CAD to keep him.maybe that will work,radios help but my birds seem alot happier with each other!:S

thanks........i am allowed to leave a radio on during the day, ....and Lizzie does have toys in her cage........but i still feel guilty about leaving her alone for 6 hours a day....

Does the begging thing really work?
i know if i pester my parents too much, .......they get mad and wont let me have what i want anyways!....lol
But my friend needs the cage, so i probably wont get it back for at least another month,,.,....i cannot ask for it now if she needs it, cuz that is just rude...lol
but i do hope to get another bird within, a month or so......maybe i will pay my dad too get another one!

Don't forget that even if you got a new bird today it wouldn't be a quick fix. It'd have to be kept in a different room for at least a month and even at the end of that the two birds might not get along. Don't get a new bird purely as a companion, get a new bird cause you want another.

Just remember that Lizzie might not get a friend, it depends on whether or not they get along. You just have to be prepared for that possibility. ;)
