MJ, one of my budgies, is currently going into a molt. Ive heard to give them some hard boiled eggs to give them more protein. I was wondering if I should put in the whole egg, or just the egg white?

Thanks!

Entire egg, shell and all. :p
I just mash it all up with a fork. :)

I don't know. I thought they were only suppose to eat only the white!:S

If you have a mortar and pestle you can use it to crush the shell. Does anyone know if birds prefer pieces of shell or powdered shell?

With boiled eggs, when you take the shell off, there is this thin membrane, sometimes it is on the shell and sometimes on the white. If you remove it from the shell it grinds better. I wonder how long it will keep once it is dry. Also, it is just gritty enough that I think it would make a good scouring powder.
