Lots of luck!

I've had the most success with working with one budgie at a time. Take them into the bathroom with a small dish towel and and just calmly work with them. Let them come out from under the towel at their own pace and let them get used to my hands. Work on step ups, sitting on my hand, chest, shoulder, etc. Talk to them softly.

But don't push them. If they flutter away, let them collect themselves and show them you won't eat them.

I also like the play the "blinking" game with them. I blink at them, they blink back, I blink, they blink. If you were to eat them, you would stare and not break eye-contact. I've found it helps them relax and help create a bond.

I never heard of such a way,i was going to just put my hand in the cage and let them get used to it, the offer millet, etc.
and yeah i know the blinking game, i play it with Coco :giggle: I also lost a staring Competition to Skittles ;)

That way works too. Sometimes a bit slower. Maybe try a mix? Work with them both in and out of the cage :)

Day 1- Partial Success, I used FlyingFluff's Way of "My hand is the only Way out" and it was a total success, i used the space between the curtain and the window; Here are Some photos of today ;)

Staring into space, it was hard for her to step up, i had to softly push her tummy ;)
but it wasn't Easy even when she stepped up...
She started to nibble and pinch on my nail; i offered her millet instead of biting me, And she did have some! :)

I kept her on my finger for 10 minutes, Then offered the millet for 5 minutes ;)

Your doing great! Just keep up the hard work and you'll get sweet tame budgies in no time ;) Candy's doing good.....Have you tried training Skittles in a different room then the other fids? I had my first training session in a unused bathroom(toilet seat down and budgie safe :))and it went great!

I was very happy to bump into this advice you gave. I was looking all over this forum for someone who's using this method. I am about to move from hand w/millet in the cage to the 'towel' training, as I am no longer making headway in the taming process. You are also the first person I've seen use a dish towel. I never thought of that, but was making myself a flannel 'towel' because I think the budgie's nails will get caught in a terry cloth towel. I acquired 3 budgies w/in one week about 6 weeks ago. I have one male budgie that I've kept seperated from my other two since acquiring him (because his wings are SO short, he was falling hard when knocked from his perch by the others' playing). Today I put my other two into a larger flight cage that I just acquired. I want to put him w/the others soon. I'd like to ask you , if you don't mind, when you work w/one budgie, do you pull them from a communal cage/aviary to work w/them, or do you keep your untamed isolated into a seperate cage? And how do you remove them from their cage to the safe room? Thank you in advance, Laila.

Well, they're progressing really good! :proud:
Here's a brief update:
Skittles has stopped biting and his pin feathers have successfully opened (going to include pics in a new thread later), candy and skittles are being, say; Half tame? And im okay with it they don't have to be fully tame, i like them just the way they are :)
