Ok, this is Day One of my training journal. Every day, when I change their food and water, I stick my hand in the cages and some of them perch on my finger for a few seconds. All of them, actually, excpet for Nero. It's funny because when they are out of the cage and I offer them millet, Nero is the first to take it and the first to leave when she thinks I've crossed the line. UGH. Jasper and Citrus are the birds I've had the longest and they sit on my finger for a little bit. But never leave the cage while doing so. Cabela is my latest budgie and he came home the first day and started perching on my finger and sitting on my shoulder. Now that he's been around the others, he's not as friendly. Emmer is still pretty shaky around me, but I'm working on that every day. Sometimes, I'll just place my hand in their cages and not move. Then, I'll stick millet in my hand while I let my hand rest in the cage. That's when they get on my hand to eat the millet. I've done so much research on taming them. What I really need is hands-on training, I guess. LOL, I guess I'll just have to deal without. I bathe them everyday (spray them) and they hate it. I just wonder what else I can do to win their affection. Ready for Day Two.
