Well, hopefully we can actually complete taming (unlike last time.. naughty me! :o ) We've done a few sessions, but haven't made much progress yet.

Kiddles and Kloudy are both pretty tame. They occasionly come onto my arm if offered millit-SOMETIMES. Kipper eats from my hand but is still pretty nervous.

So, I've read a bit on taming budgies and some ways to do so. Here is a step by step list on what I am going to do to get my birds tame. Each of them are going to perfect these so I know they are ready to move onto the next step. Also, in each training session (and even when they are tame) they will review what they have learnt so they don't forget :)

MY LIST:

1. Feel safe when hand sits in cage-doing nothing

2. Eat from hand

3. Step up onto perch I'm holding (to prevent biting)

4. Step up onto finger

5. Let me pet wings and belly

I hope they are tamed by my little list of taming bits :D Oh, and also, when a step is done correctly they will get a treat :) Please tell me if you think that I have jumped in some part, haven't included enough or my training pattern won't work. I will keep you all updated. :) Thanks :) :budgie: :budge:

They might not let you pet their wings because some budgies just don't like it. But I think you will succeed in taming them! LOL, I already thought they were tame. Silly me.

Today I did 2 training sessions (each about 2-5 minutes long) and I'm up to them all getting fed millit from my hand. Kipper was unsure at first but once he got into it, he just couldn't get enough! :D Kloudy was really nervous aswell, but then Kiddles showed him that it was a treat and that encouraged him to eat some :)

Okay, well today, Kiddles was close to jumping onto my hand for some millit :) Kloudy didn't hesitate, and, the shyest one, Kipper, didn't back away! :)

Today, we did a 4 minute taming session. :) I got it on camera, too :)
We made some progress! :D Kiddles and Kloudy climbed onto my hand for millit BY THEM SELF! And Kipper, he wasn't afraid, and went right into the millit in my hand! :) Kiddles and Kloudy have always been tamer and quicker at getting used to people than Kipper has, and it's only been 5 days, so I'm trying to be patient with Kipper and I believe that, after a while, I will have a flock of 3 tame budgies that will enjoy my company and hopefully come out of their cage every day to play with me and spend time with me outside their cage and maybe even go out my bedroom with me and bond with my mum and sister. :)

Another taming session today :D
Started off Kloudy and Kiddles climbed onto me for the millit two birds in the hand :D But Kipper was having a bit of an off day and didn't eat the millit I offered him, but I'm okay with it, we will just try again tomorow :)

So not that much progress yet, but Kipper, instead of getting nervous when I bring the millit up to him, he is getting all excited and not so nervous. Kiddles and Kloudy are now jumping/climbing onto my hand almost every time I put the millit in the cage :) But Kipper he is but slowly making progress and he is getting there :)

Yesterday they had a break from training and didn't do any, so we longer session today, and Kipper is definitly getting more used to me. But he gets all panicky when Kiddles and Kloudy come up to him for the millit, so I'm trying to share the millit between them. Kiddles and Kloudy, like Kipper are still going to get used to eating from my hand before we move onto the next step. :)

Today we had another training session, and now the three of them are don't hesetate to eat from my hand, and Kipper doesn't sit in the highest perch in the cage to get away from me! Instead he is with Kiddles and Kloudy eating millit in the middle of the cage :D If that's not good enough, when he was eating millit from my hand, (either he didn't notice, or he was just trying to get to the better millit :giggle: ) His head was touching my hand! :D Also, I was trying to get him to step up, but that's what ended up happening instead :D

BREAK THOUGH! :D
Today, I was feeding my birds the millit, and Kipper let me stroke his little blue belly!!!! It was so soft and it was such a breakthough :)

Yesterday, I tried to stroke Kippers tummy again and I was close, but he didn't let me. But that's okay :) Kiddles did the usual and jumped onto my hand. Kloudy, he let me take him out of the cage, which was fine, but then he flew off and onto my bed and then the floor and then the cage. I thought ''okay maybe this is going too far and he's getting scared'' so then became the mission to get him back in the cage. I tried getting him on my hand with the millit-didn't work. I tried getting him onto a perch-didn't work. I tried to hold him and put him back in the cage-didn't work. I really didn't want to throw a towel over him to put him back in, so I kind of guided him back to the cage with millit.
