-My little Confidant/Benefactor-

I know I've said in the past that I didn't have, but honestly Butter was one of my favorites well actually my only one. He has definitely shown me what type of companions budgies really are. I owe him so much for being in my life. It breaks my heart to think about the first days I've had him.

This is his story:

Butterscotch was brought home on October 17, 2004 not as my budgie, but my brother's. He was brother's budgie till we tried traming him. Butter was a very skittish budgie scared of everything and bit HARD. I remembered the day he flw, he hit the mirror in my room. Silly budgie! My brother decided he was too much so I took him in. To it was the best thing I ever did.

When I started taming him he bit constantly and HARD, but I kept trying because he was different. And I knew it. Once he got used to me he was the BEST. He was very obedient and scared of nothing. I love him so much.

Eventually I used him in training/taming other budgies. He helped alot with that in my mind. He did get Maggy to eat out of my hand, but I wonder if she'll still do it without him. No one could ask for something so pure and innocent to teach them how valuable a life can be. Throughout his life he taught me so much. He is very near and dear to my heart.

Butter was all I ever asked for.

Oh no! I am so sorry to hear about Butter! He was a pretty young little fellow too... Any idea what happened?

May Butter fly high with all of our other feathered friends whom we have lost.

Thanks everyone I really appreciates your condolence's.

I know when I got him he was alot older than all the budgies I had. He had a full cap and everything as you can tell from the first pic. I don't know if it was age that played a part though.

Sadly I don't have his body, so an autopsy can't be done now.

Andres,

I am deeply sorry to hear that Butter have passed away. It was so sudden and when I read the title, "Butterscotch" I thought there will be pictures of him. I started reading and I was stunned. I had to look back and then noticed that this thread was in the "In Memory" forum.

And yes, Butterscotch will always be in our memories. I can understand why he was your favorite budgie. My favorite budgie is Grace and he was also a stubborn cheeky budgie. The hardest to tame are those that give us the greatest joy in the end.

Rest in Peace Butterscotch, you will be deeply missed.

I'm so sorry for your loss.He remind's me of the Robert Frost poem:
Nothing Gold Can Stay
Nature's first green is gold
Her hardest hue to hold
Her early leaf's a flower
But only so an hour
Then leaf subsides to leaf
So eden sank to grief
So dawn goes down to day
Nothing gold can stay.
