So does anyone else find that there bird reacts to a blow dryer? Emmah's cage is in my room, so whenever I blowdry my hair she gets to listen to it. Everytime she starts chirping at the same time its blowing. The hot air is not going anywhere near her cage either. I know its just the loud creepy sound shes not used to yet, but its cute :)

I think budgies are like babies in that they like white noise: vacuum cleaners, hair dryers, etc.

If she's chirping along then yup! When i had 11 budgies living in the lounge room you should've heard them tweeting when we vacuumed up all the seed they dropped!

that would explain why they went bit mental when i was using my heat gun!! dont worry, thats not like a blow torch or anything, its just a really hot hairdryer + i was well away from the budgies, it makes the same kinda noise, but quieter + it makes the tv crackle!!

my parrots love it when i vacuum
they squack and holler and my pionus takes his bath when i vacuum
if i want to mist my birds, i turn the vacuum on and that puts them in the mood for a good spraying
i don't know why, i just know it works

well as long as your hair dryer doesn't have teflon on it your budgie may be trying to warn you of the fumes...does your budgie do the same for the vaccume?Just be carefull
