Here's a photo of the nest boxes I'm using now. I put a yardstick and a quarter next to it so you can get an idea of the actual size. The end, made up of two parts, slides up for easy viewing of the interior. The block is easily removable for cleaning. Ideal for my use. I paid about $9.50 each for them. Got them on eBay. Thought you might like to see.

That's a very nice nest box. I am sure it will give all the budgie breeders here an excellent idea of what works well! :p

Out of curiousity, where do they sell nest boxes? I looked at the pet store, but they only have Cockatiel nest boxes, those don't work for budgies, rihgt? Not that I was planning on breeding, I was just checking it out. And I'm not allowed to do the online thing lol but I mean if I was thinking about it for the future..o.O
Ebay is a good place to start, I'll go and get one of those soon! Thanks!

I find mine at pet stores. One for budgies too. I believe a cockatiel nest box is fine Freya.

I had mine made, by my boyfriends dad
the only difference i've seen between a budgies nest box and a tiels nest box is the budgies nest box size is 7x7x7 (square) and a tiels is 12x12x12 square * or at least the is the sizes i've found online when i was looking it up)
but the main concept of both are the same

The local pet stores like Petco and petsmart will have keet breeding boxes. They are very inexpensive and ask for them if you don't see one on the shelf.

My budgies used a teil nesting box when they bred this summer. no real problems with it, other than Princess decided the corner was a better spot than the bowl to sit on her clutch and lots of room for the babies when they started getting active.

I also bought my latest boxes on eBay. Well made but shipping was inflated.

I think its a good nesting box mostly because it has a little dent in the middle for the female to keep her eggs in.
