There we go! I'm not great with mutations but I think he's dominant pied and the flash is covering the cere, but from what I can see, it looks like male.

Do dominant pieds have all white wings? Or do they have lacewings? I've got two recessive pieds, they have SOME lacewings. But new birdy has no black on his/her wings. Blue/pink cere pink feet.

kk thanks for the help. Can you tell me what my other new birdy is? :P

It's the one in the back, that's not a recessive peid.

You can't really tell in this pic, but he looks really purplish.

I'll let the experts answer that one. I just know the mutations of my own birdies. :D

The experts aren't online >< If any experts could help me out with my two new birdies? I'm almost positive that Bpo Bpo, I think Violet-something, is a boy. And Angel, the one we think is a dominant peid, is acting like a girl, but has blue/pinkish cere, with pink feet. Any help would be awesome.

Who are the experts anyways...?

The first budgie is a Double-Factor Dominant Pied and is a male.
The second budgie is a Opaline Violet and is a female.

Beautiful Budgies by the way! :D

Bpo Bpo is female...? Whaat. How do you know? How can you tell? She's only a few months old?

Bpo Bpo is the one with the recessive pied right?!?

Her cere is almost all white which means she's a female.

Wow. I totally expected male. Doesn't bite, talks a lot. And angel, the dominant pied, who you think is male, bites all the time, and doesn't say a word. Totally oposite of the two females and the male I have now. This'll sure shake things up.

While we're on the subject... who can help me with a new sig? :P

It's their first days in a new surrounding so they really aren't going to act like themselves. I have quite a few females who are more chatter boxes than the males and males who are more bitters than females. Not every budgies is going to fit the personality standard they are put in.

With the siggy, I am no help there sorry. :(

My two females draw blood, and my male only bites (gently may I add :P) when he's moulting. We've had Bpo Bpo for like... more than a month, and we just got Angel tonight. BTW, I looked at Bpo-Bpo's cere, and it's not really as white as it looks in that pic, pic's just overexposed. It's really purple/blue/white and all mixed up.

You say that my dominant peid is a boy, because of the blue cere, but he's got pink little feet? Is that because of the mutation, or is it supposed to be like that?

Well, I think the white has to do with the flash, since what you can make of the cere is purple/dark blue. So i'm saying Boy. Can you try taking a picture with the flash not going directly on it, so we can tell for sure (not a command, it would just help! :) )

He/she is my Bobby's twin! He looks exactly like your birdie, except Bobby has a darker blue!

a bit blurry, but you can kinda see the color. I took 24 pics, and this is the best one... Tells you what kind of photographer I am... :P

First thing feet color has nothing to do with sexing a budgie. :)
I still say female, since I can see the white around the nostrils.
If there is more white than blue/purple in person than Bpo Bpo is a female.
If there is more blue/purple than white in person than Bpo Bpo is a male.

Feet has nothing to do with sexing? Cause Angel, with a blue cere, has pink feet. My two girlies have pink feet, and Pretty Boy has purple feet, I just naturally assumed. If feet color has nothing to do with sexing that's good..

Feet color only deals with genetics imho.
The cere color deals with sexing.

That's very interesting. Thank you. I wouldn't have known otherwise.

Pink feet usually goes with pieds and inos. :) Though other mutations can also have pink feet, it's just not as common i guess. I have a dom. pied with blue feet and pink toes (he's ***, i think he's wearing nail polish ;)).
