well polly has some feathers in a cornerof the nestbox so just telling u guys to keep u updated:budgie: :budgie: :budgie:

i saw of picture of someone elses budgie in the nest boxes and there were feathers everywhere. So i think its fine I'm no expert though.

the feathers u see in the pic are from the mother of the baby budgies this is normal. The budgie does not make a nest like other birds they hollow out a concave shape in their nesting box, the other matter in the nest box are droppings from the previous hatchings that had just left the nest.
I was going to let the mother have a rest and when I went to clean the cage and put the parents in the non breeding aviary I discovered three eggs so I was too late. As you can see budgies are not really fussed about what there nesting box is like becos in the wild they nest in the hollows of dead or live gum trees.
Those babies have now fledged and are being hand raised in my lounge room while mum and dad have a rest from breeding.
The budgies were hatched on 1st April 2006 so are now 32 days old and fully feathered.
I will post some pics as soon as I get the camera.
